How long will my Amos Shapes board take?

Your order can take up to 12 weeks depending on manufacturing times.

What size foilboard should I order?

If just beginning to prone foil we suggest ordering approximately 5L above your regular shortboard volume. Once you become more competent you will probably be able to order a foilboard at the same volume as your regular shortboard. Note: this is only a rough guide.

Can I change my order?

Once deposit is made all custom orders are final. We start the process of ordering your board as soon as your deposit is in so there is no delay in the build.  If you have ordered a stock size board or any of our foils or accessories you are welcome to change your mind, best to let us know as soon as you can so we don’t ship it out to you.  If your board has been ridden, knocked, got wet or waxed stickered up in anyway it is no longer new and cannot be returned.

How do I care for my board?

At no time should boards be left in direct sunlight or in areas that attract heat. This is the most common way to damage your boards. Carbon (black) boards or darker boards do attract more heat than lighter colours so this is even more crucial.

Any damage to your board should be repaired immediately by professional Epoxy repairer.  Do not ride your board if it is damaged.

What does vacuum bagging do for my foil board?

Vacuum bagging is a process of removing excess resin in the glassing stage. This is how we get our boards to be as light and strong as possible.

What screws do I use in my foot strap inserts?

We suggest you use marine grade stainless 316 CSK self tappers 12 x 1  and hand screw in your straps. Using a drill can put too much force through the insert and crack the inside.

Why do you put air vents in your foil boards?

All our current foil boards are made with EPS Epoxy, meaning they will expand and contract in different temperatures.  Adding a Gortex vent allows for trapped air to leave the board without causing damage. This does not mean your board will withstand being left in the sun or in a hot environment for long but a vent does assist in less damage to your board. Do not touch or adjust your air vent, doing so will void any warranty with Amos Shapes.
