Frequently Asked Questions
Is this board compatible with Foil Drive Fusion?
In short, yes - but check out Josh Ku explaining here.
Can I change my battery without removing the mast?
This board has been designed for maximum performance with the Foil Drive system alongside team rider Josh Ku and the Foil Drive team. To do this we have made the recess as slimline as we can, the result and feedback is that this board is a rocket in the water and up on foil with Foil Drive. Paul (one of the Foil Drive owners) has said this is "the best board he has ever ridden with Foil Drive".
You will still have to remove your mast to change batteries but Foil Drive Split Bolts do make battery changes easier and faster.
Can I ride this board without Foil Drive?
Yes, we have designed this board's recess to fit most major foil brands' masts.
What will battery changes look like?
For a battery change you will have to remove the 4 bolts that attach your Foil Drive to the board. You then have to open the nose cone and replace the battery. To reinstall you will have to latch the nose cone back onto the unit and then reattach the unit and mast to the board via the 4 bolts.
Will I need an antenna for bluetooth connection to Foil Drive with this board?
No, in the KrUzer RTS we have installed an Enhanced Connection Window (ECW) in the deck which is located under the logo on the nose of the board, and also left a carbon free area in the recess to allow for the best possible connection ability. In saying this, correct connection technique still needs to be used.
Please see Foil Drive's YouTube video for more information on this.
Can I customise dimensions on the KrUzer RTS?
Due to the more technical and time consuming nature of building these boards, we are not accepting customisations of dimensions on the RTS models.
Can I use other Foil Drive products with the KrUzer RTS?
Yes, you can use the Foil Drive Gen 2 Slim with the performance and endurance batteries. You can also use the Foil Drive Gen 2 Max with the Power and Sport batteries, and Fusion is also compatible.
Construction
Hydrofoil boards rely on a rigid sandwich structure to handle the high torsional loads and stress of hydrofoiling. Amos Shapes Foilboards are built exactly to this standard - an EPS foam core, reinforced with high density foam inserts, wrapped in fibreglass and an outer carbon fibre skin.
Vacuum bagging
Each board is vacuum bagged to consolidate the laminate under pressure, removing excess resin and ensuring a consistent, lightweight shell - resulting in the best stiffness to weight ratio possible.
Foil Tec Tracks
We use Foil Tec Tracks - purpose-built for foiling, and have been developed alongside Amos Shapes specifically for the foiling industry. They are built to handle the loads of foil riding without adding unnecessary weight.
Manufacturing
Our boards are made in house at our Northern Rivers, NSW glassing factory. Amos and our team of very talented board builders are dedicated to making the best possible foilboards. They are always trying new techniques, designs and ideas and continue to push innovation in the foiling industry.
We are always making stock boards however they can often sell out before we get them up online. We encourage customers to place your order via our webpage so you can secure the right board for you. Or if you do not want to wait, check out our boards in stock page, which is updated regularly as stock comes in.
Returns & Warranty
Amos Shapes has a 30 day return policy as long as your product remains unridden/unused and in its original condition.
Warranty 6 month warranty
We offer a 6 month warranty on manufacturing defects. This does not include general wear and tear such as pressure dints, dings or heat delamination.
See full warranty ↗Care Instructions
Do not leave your board in the sun or in prolonged heat (including the car). Carbon boards heat up very quickly and this will cause delamination. This will void your warranty.
The air valve is self-regulating and should not be unscrewed or left out at any time. It regulates pressure in the blank to reduce pressure changes and help your board last longer. It will not stop delamination if the board is left in the sun or prolonged heat.
Only use the screws provided with your Amos Shapes board for your foot strap inserts. If you need to replace your screws please contact Amos Shapes. Using any other screws will void warranty.
Do not use power tools to install your foil or foot strap inserts as this will almost certainly cause damage to your board. Screws should always be installed using hand tools and not over tightened.
We use high quality track inserts. Occasionally on a new board your T-nuts from your foil will be tight to get in. We suggest tuning your T-nuts by lightly filing along the long edge until you achieve the correct fit.
If your board has been damaged do not ride it. Have your board repaired by a professional using epoxy resins only.
KrUzer RTS | Foil Drive Board | Built for Performance and Efficiency
Foil Drive approved board and suits for all levels.
Size Guide
Introducing our dedicated Foil Drive Board
With the infinite popularity of the Kruzer and its success with the Foil Drive System we have now designed a dedicated Foil Drive board.
We have increased this boards performance with Foil Drive by adding a Recessed Track System (RTS) and Enhanced Connection Window (ECW). This recess will decrease the resistance of the battery on the bottom of the board for more efficiency in paddling and lift off. The ECW is a window cut in the carbon on the deck to allow for the Foil Drive bluetooth transmission to travel through the board space easier.
This is the board of choice for the Foil Drive community, lead by Josh Ku and has been quoted by Paul (Foildrive Founder) as one of his favourite boards to ride with Foil Drive.
The KrUzer is available in two versions:
- Prone Version – Compact and surf-focused, designed for riders seeking a true surf foilboard feel with aggressive turns and responsive control.
- Mid-Length Version – Higher volume and stability, suited to prone and downwind foiling as well as entry-level riders looking for extra buoyancy, paddle support, and forgiveness.
The KrUzer RTS boasts a distinctive blue base and deck grip design, adding a personal touch to its aesthetics.
Watch Josh's video on the Kruzer RTS Foil Drive board here.
Features:
- Recessed Track System (RTS) specifically designed to be a Foil Drive board
- Enhanced Connection Window (ECW)
- Concave deck
- Narrow outline with displacement hull
- Available with Prone and Mid Length
- Pulled in narrow Tail
- Flat through the tracks
- Foil Tec Josh Ku Signature Blue Dot Traction Pad
- Air Vent and Leash Plug
