Nano RTS - Our Popular Chop-Tail Board - Now Adapted for Foil Drive Users

The Nano RTS is a compact foilboard purpose-built for Foil Drive riders, designed for those chasing the most performance driven board combined with the added electric assist. This is a dedicated Foil Drive platform and features our RTS (Recessed Track System) with open tail tracks for fast, easy attachment, and is fully compatible with Slim, Max, and Fusion Foil Drive systems.

We have also integrated our Enhanced Connection Window (ECW) to deliver optimal Bluetooth connection with your Foil Drive unit, ensuring a stronger and more reliable signal between board and controller. The result is seamless Foil Drive integration and a highly responsive feel underfoot.

Surf-Driven Performance

Developed in collaboration with team rider Tom Earl, the Nano has been refined through extensive R&D to maximise manoeuvrability, flow, and surf-style performance. A reduced tail length lowers swing weight, allowing tighter arcs, quicker direction changes, and confident performance in steep sections without rail contact. The flat deck is designed to suit an offset stance.

Built for intermediate to advanced riders, the Nano is ideal for foilers wanting a compact, dedicated Foil Drive board.

Nano RTS – Frequently Asked Questions

“I’m an intermediate to advanced rider weighing 90kg. Should I ride the 4’3 or 4’5 Nano RTS?”

For advanced riders up to 90kg, we recommend the 4’3” × 33L. If you’re closer to intermediate level, the 4’5” × 35L is a great option with added stability and ease of use.

“Does the trench accommodate the Foil Drive Fusion?”

Yes. The Nano RTS trench system has been designed to fully accommodate the Foil Drive Fusion setup. However due to the compact nature of this board - the trench can not be very long. The mast will need to slide back to allow for a battery change.

Can I ride the Nano RTS without a Foil Drive installed?

Yes, the Nano RTS can still be ridden unassisted without a Foil Drive in the trench.

That said, it’s worth considering which discipline you do most often. If you mainly prone foil unassisted, the standard Nano model may also be worth considering, as it still works very well with a Foil Drive setup when needed.

“I currently ride a 4’7” × 36L non-trench board from another brand and it works well for me. What Nano RTS size would you recommend?”

We generally recommend choosing the Nano RTS in a similar volume to the board you currently enjoy riding.

The Nano RTS has been designed to be ridden short and compact, while still maintaining stability and usability for Foil Drive riders.

When will the Nano RTS be released?

The Nano RTS is currently available for order and we are building these boards at the moment. Please place your order through our website and we will allocate boards from time of order.

“I’m an advanced rider weighing 80kg. What size Nano RTS would suit me best?”

The 4’3” × 33L is an excellent option for advanced riders around 80kg.

Amos Shapes team rider Tom Earl weighs 80kg and rides the 4’3” × 33L as his go-to size. He is able to flat-water start his Code 740X setup on this board.

“I’m an intermediate Foil Drive rider weighing 90kg and looking to progress from my first board, which is a 5’5” × 50L. Would the 4’7” Nano RTS be a good next step?”

Yes. The 4’7” Nano RTS packs a lot of volume into a compact, stable platform and is designed to remain user-friendly while delivering a more reactive, performance-oriented feel.

If you’re comfortable on your current setup and looking to progress into a shorter, more responsive board, the 4’7” Nano RTS could be a great next step.
