Frequently Asked Questions

Are you releasing an RTS version of the KrUzer V2?

Yes - but we're not rushing it.  An RTS version of the KrUzer V2 is in development and planned for release mid 2026.  We're deep in R&D to ensure it delivers the same refined performance and reliability the KrUzer name is known for.  When it lands, it'll be worth the wait.

In the meantime, we're continuing to offer the KrUzer V1 RTS, which remains our number one choice for Foil Drive riders and a proven, dialled-in platform for assisted foiling.

Who is the KrUzer V2 designed for?

The KrUzer V2 is a true all-round hydrofoil board.  It's ideal for intermediate riders progressing their skills, but it's also forgiving and stable enough for newer foilers.  Advanced riders will appreciate its speed, efficiency, and refined foil feel.

What makes the KrUzer V2 different from the original KrUzer?

The V2 keeps everything riders loved about the original - easy paddling, wave-catching ability, and stability - while refining the outline, rails, and nose volume.  The result is improved paddling efficiency, faster acceleration in the water, and better control without sacrificing accessibility.

Is the KrUzer V2 easy to paddle?

Yes.  The fuller nose, increased foam distribution in the front half, and more parallel rails make the KrUzer V2 noticeably easier to paddle and more stable under the chest - helping riders catch waves earlier and with less effort.

Will this board help me catch more waves?

Absolutely.  The KrUzer design is known for helping average riders catch more waves.  Easier wave entry means more time on foil and faster progression.

What's the difference between the Regular and Pro versions?

  • Regular: Higher volume for easier paddling, added stability, and a more forgiving ride.
  • Pro: Thinner profile and lower volume for maximum foil sensitivity, responsiveness, and performance.

Can I use the KrUzer V2 with Foil Drive?

Yes.  The KrUzer V2 performs exceptionally well both with and without Foil Drive.  For riders using Foil Drive, the board features an Enhanced Connection Window (ECW) to improve Bluetooth connection reliability.

Is the board suitable without Foil Drive?

Definitely.  The KrUzer V2 is designed first and foremost as a paddle-powered prone foil board and performs exceptionally well without any assist.

If I know what litreage I like, what board length should I go for?

The KrUzer is made to be ridden longer.  The thin shape mixed with a longer rocker line adds better paddle power, planing speed and sensitivity under foot when foiling.  Many foilers are hesitant to ride a board longer than what they're used to - but once they experience the glide, stability, and wave-catching ability of the KrUzer, there's no going back.  Stick to your volume but trust the new shape!

I am just starting my foiling journey, will this board suit me and what size should I order?

If you are just getting into foiling and looking at a prone board we recommend any of the sizes from 5'3" to 5'9" and the litres depending on your weight.  As an example: for an 80kg person we recommend 30L for an intermediate and above rider.  If just starting out add 3-5+ litres to your volume for more stability and paddle power.

What type of foiling is the KrUzer V2 best for?

The KrUzer V2 is ideal for prone foiling.  Its balanced design makes it suitable for a wide range of conditions and riding styles.  The higher volumes of this model will suit wing and parawing foil disciplines too.

What comes standard with the board?

Finished in a burnt orange colour way with a matching Foil Tec orange circle deck grip for clear foot reference.  The board features a tail-mounted leash plug and Gore-Tex air vent, with an Enhanced Connection Window (ECW) installed into the nose.

Construction
The structure

Hydrofoil boards rely on a rigid sandwich structure to handle the high torsional loads and stress of hydrofoiling.  Amos Shapes Foilboards are built exactly to this standard - an EPS foam core, reinforced with high density foam inserts, wrapped in fibreglass and an outer carbon fibre skin.

Vacuum bagging

Each board is vacuum bagged to consolidate the laminate under pressure, removing excess resin and ensuring a consistent, lightweight shell - resulting in the best stiffness to weight ratio possible.

Foil Tec Tracks

We use Foil Tec Tracks - purpose-built for foiling, and have been developed alongside Amos Shapes specifically for the foiling industry.  They are built to handle the loads of foil riding without adding unnecessary weight.

Manufacturing
Current manufacturing time is approximately 8 weeks.

Our boards are made in house at our Northern Rivers, NSW glassing factory.  Amos and our team of very talented board builders are dedicated to making the best possible foilboards.  They are always trying new techniques, designs and ideas and continue to push innovation in the foiling industry.

We are always making stock boards however they can often sell out before we get them up online.  We encourage customers to place your order via our webpage so you can secure the right board for you.  Or if you do not want to wait, check out our boards in stock page, which is updated regularly as stock comes in.

Care Instructions
Heat & sun

Do not leave your board in the sun or in prolonged heat (including the car).  Carbon boards heat up very quickly and this will cause delamination.  This will void your warranty.

Air valve

The air valve is self-regulating and should not be unscrewed or left out at any time.  It regulates pressure in the blank to reduce pressure changes and help your board last longer.  It will not stop delamination if the board is left in the sun or prolonged heat.

Screws

Only use the screws provided with your Amos Shapes board for your foot strap inserts.  If you need to replace your screws please contact Amos Shapes.  Using any other screws will void warranty.

Installation

Do not use power tools to install your foil or foot strap inserts as this will almost certainly cause damage to your board.  Screws should always be installed using hand tools and not over tightened.

Foil T-nuts

We use high quality track inserts.  Occasionally on a new board your T-nuts from your foil will be tight to get in.  We suggest tuning your T-nuts by lightly filing along the long edge until you achieve the correct fit.

Damage

If your board has been damaged do not ride it.  Have your board repaired by a professional using epoxy resins only.

“Since moving onto the KrUzer v2, I’ve done the best foiling ever. This board is made for people who need the best possible opportunity to get onto foil. At the same time, the new fuller outline has helped me pull off some of the most high-performance foiling I’ve done, landing airs now and the board planing back onto foil effortlessly.” - Josh Ku - Co-designer and Pro Team Rider
