The Cypher wing/ surf SUP and downwind SUP foilboard is the result of extensive research and development in the rapidly evolving world of SUP and downwind board design. With a focus on beginner-friendly features, this new generation Surf SUP Foilboard is sure to impress. We have had amazing input from team riders Dave West and Josh Ku to design and fine tune this model in both versions and are very happy with the results!

Cypher Surf/Wing SUP

With the Cypher Surf/Wing SUP, we have combined the best features of the Sultan range and the Bullet to create the ultimate board for SUP surfing and light-wind winging. Our goal was to provide stability, easy wave-catching, on-foil performance, and a slim design that keeps your feet closer to the foil. Traditionally, SUP surf foil boards were very short and often unstable or excessively wide. However, as the sport has evolved, so has the definition of a "long" board. Our 7'4 board is now the standard for SUP surfing, but many of us have discovered the excitement of using our downwind boards for surfing, like the 8'10 Bullet. For enhanced on-foil performance and easier handling, we created a slightly shorter board with a forward-placed foil box and smart foam distribution for a balanced feel. With a length that adds stability and a width of 21 inches, our board strikes the perfect balance between usability and performance.

Cypher Downwind SUP

The Cypher Downwind SUP is perfect for beginners and experienced paddlers alike. With a stable yet easy-to-paddle design, it's ideal for learning the challenging skill of downwinding. The straight parallel rails, flat deck, and flat rocker line provide superior stability and make it easier to get up on the board. Plus, the larger surface area in the tail helps to balance and propel you forward.

This board is the result of years of experience and research, and it's available in just two sizes to cover the needs of most users. Don't hesitate to choose the larger size, as it will only add to your stability and success when learning to downwind. Trust us, you won't regret it when you're 2km offshore!

Good luck de-cyphering downwinding!

The Cypher Does Not Disappoint! - 7'4" Cypher

The experience – dealing with Amos and Jess is always a pleasure, quick to respond to questions on products and always open to talking through designs, dimensions, colours etc. Board always arrives well packaged and protected for its journey and the Ocean and Earth coffin bags are an excellent addition to ensure your new stick is kept looking in great shape!

The rider - 49yrs, 88kgs, intermediate level.

The board – Cypher 7’4x21 @110l . The usual, great, light weight, excellent build quality, construction and finish you come to expect from Amos Shapes. Expectations were for a slightly smaller DW shape and style, a SUP foil board for wave riding, the Cypher doesn’t disappoint. Given the nose contours it paddles into waves quickly, easily and tracks well without dragging or catching. You can get in early for the bigger stuff and take your time on the smaller, cruisier swells. Importantly, when stepping back on to your regular downwind board the transition is much easier given the Cypher’s design. You could even run one Cypher as a quiver killer it’s that good. The Cypher makes what can be a hard sport to learn easier or provide more enjoyable sessions for the crew further along on their foiling journey.

Amos cypher 7'4 110 liter board thoughts

Got the board a few days now and could do some light wind winging with it and a short micro bumps downwind session. The board feels verry stable, surprisingly better than bigger boards I used. The board also responds good on your movements and comes up to foil easy. My wife and daughter used it with no foil or board experience and the could stand on it so also extreme user friendly. Can't wait to go into the waves and bigget bumps with it.
